September 22, 2021 for students of the Primary School. Janusz Korczak in Jeżewo, we organized an action aimed at building ecological awareness among children and teenagers. The event was divided into three parts – water monitoring, cleaning the forest, and a festival at the school.
Activities related to water testing took place on the beach of Lake Stelchno. The children monitored the temperature of the water, its oxygenation, acidity and turbidity under the watchful eye of Bartłomiej Matysiak, water management manager at quality and environmental protection Agri Plus. Young people also got involved in cleaning the surrounding forests and beaches. All activities took place in the company of a reporter from Polish Radio PIK and his team. The children gave short statements, and Bartłomiej Matysiak explained the basic assumptions of water monitoring.
At the end of the event, a party was held at the school for all students. As a thank you, we organized a snack for the children.
The attitude of students from the Primary School in Krąplewice shows us that young people are more willing to participate in educational campaigns that are based on action.
